People and Culture Associate

About The Role

SunCulture is seeking a People & Culture Associate to work in the People and Culture team to build our organizational capacity & ensure we are creating an environment in which our team can realize their full potential. To be successful in this role, the right candidate will bring knowledge & experience in providing support for SunCulture Kenya across key functional areas such as recruitment, employee relations & engagement and performance management. Ultimately, you will help foster a healthy workplace by ensuring our HR procedures run smoothly at all times. Key Responsibilities

Support in recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, and assisting in shortlisting and issuing employment contracts.
Work with hiring managers to coordinate all aspects of the recruiting process for various roles.
Coordinate and ensure that all pre-onboarding tasks are effectively executed.
Create and update an onboarding process documentation to guide the onboarding process of new hires.
Support in onboarding new employees and ensure they have access to the necessary resources and provide a positive day-one experience.
Provide comprehensive Employee Life Cycle Management which includes and is not limited to Pre-boarding (Background checks & pre-employment checks) Onboarding (Setting employees up on the HRIS and Facilitating onboarding sessions), Offboarding (Exit Management)
Ensure employee records are up to date with the relevant employee documentation by inputting new hire information and changes in employment status.
Support in the on-boarding sessions with new hires on the Performance Management system
Assist with the management and coordinating of the mid-year and annual performance review processes for all staff
Act as an initial point of contact for a wide range of questions covering topics like benefits, policies, onboarding and People and Culture systems.
Serve as a touchpoint for ideas and events to foster culture building and assist in coordinating such activities
Administer and improve employee engagement by coordinating team activities.
Ensure day-to-day operations of People-related functions are addressed in a timely, efficient, and proactive manner.

Does This Sound like you?


Bachelor’s degree in any business or HR-related field
Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive People related issues or projects & use judgment to execute duties & responsibilities.
Ability to work with others & to develop & maintain compatibility among full-time team members, subcontractors, & recipients of assistance.
Ability to work with a sense of urgency and interest in continuous improvement of People Operations
Work independently with initiative to manage high-volume workflow with minimal supervision.
Must exhibit high levels of professionalism, integrity & ethical values at all times.
Excellent written, oral & interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work as a team member.
Ability to plan & prioritize own work under tight deadlines, as well as to work on own initiative & as a member of a team.
Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
An agile trainer capable of training and being trained and is very resilient and flexible.
Proficiency in automation systems like GSuite and MS Office.
