Product Owner- Wealth Management

Brief Description

Reporting to the Tribe Lead- Next Financial Services, the position holder will be responsible for developing and formulation of Investment and wealth creation strategy, policies and initiatives to reflect the company’s goals.

The role works with different business partners, business unit partners and cross-functional teams to deliver complete and appropriate investments and wealth management solution that meet the customers goals in the investment space.

Key accountabilities:

Identify, define and develop investment and wealth management portfolio for Safaricom.
Provide market intelligence on investments, banking and trust concepts including, but not limited to: asset allocation on managed portfolios, brokerage accounts, portfolio reviews, deposit and loan solutions, basic trust and estate products and identification of wealth planning opportunities.
Responsible for executing companywide strategic initiatives on investments and related Industry.
Collaborate with new and existing partners to develop new ideas based on market research and insights.
Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure execution of the overall investment strategy.
Ensure systematic and forward thinking in the product selection for current and future needs of the customer.
Target prospective investment partners based on the various propositions that are in line with the company’s objectives.
Conduct partner product and proposition analysis based financial information to identify opportunities for collaboration.
Keeping up to date with market developments, new investment products and all other areas that can affect the markets.
Evaluate the feasibility of current and future investment products to ensure relevance of the products.
Help organize and lead critical planning meetings, status updates, business reviews and other communications.
Ability to build digital wealth management solutions i.e., products, services and technology platforms
Engage with key influencers and decision makers across different teams to accomplish the company’s goals.
Assessing and interpreting complicated financial information and translate to a consumable product.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and execute business initiatives, lead analysis and develop and communicate final recommendations for growing investment products for the company.
Champion the adoption of best practices and procedures for the changing trends and technologies in financial services.
Define compelling go-to-market strategy for Wealth Management product that position them competitively in the market and support the relevant teams in the execution.
Deploy leadership and management of squad members with agile ways of working.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in a business related field.
Degree from a recognized university preferably in Business Administration, Finance or Economics
A Masters degree or Chartered Financial Analyst will be an added advantage
At least 6-8 years’ experience in private banking or Financial Services industry, demonstrated progression and at least experience in handling partnerships, business development and strategy formulation.
Must have working experience in private banking or Financial Services industry.
Must have excellent financial and analytical skills.
