Purchasing / Material Planning Associate Kune Food

DEPARTMENT: PRODUCTION

REPORTING TO: HEAD OF PRODUCTION

JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE:

Primarily responsible for asset inventory within the facility. They will be responsible for evaluation of suppliers, products and services, negotiation of contracts and ensuring that approved purchases are cost efficient and of high quality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards as well as costing.
Work with internal stakeholders ie. chefs, QSHE and dispatch team, to determine procurement needs, quality and delivery requirements.
Draft appropriate service level agreements to properly evaluate the performance of suppliers and report this on a regular basis.
Responsible for order placement timing, supply/demand alignment, material replenishment, distribution and supplier performance.
Monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance according to appropriate SLAs on a continuous basis.
Control and monitor expenses against approved budgets.
Identify the most appropriate supplier for all designated products, determine availability, perform comparative pricing analysis and negotiate pricing, confirm quality of products and establish delivery requirements / timelines.
Maintain all supplier contracts.
Perform inventory cycle counts, spot counts and month end reconciliation process; research any variances and authorize appropriate inventory adjustments.
Address any issues regarding suppliers and materials eg. delays, short orders etc.
Identify and resolve any issues related to product quality, pricing, delivery, utilization and loss.
Identification of new suppliers, establish relationships and develop future opportunities.
Coordinate and track returns to suppliers until credit / replacement is received.
Prepare and submit reports when they are due.
Submit accounts for payment to suppliers on time.
Report on agreed KPIs.
Any other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Higher Diploma / Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management
3 years experience in purchasing / planning.
Knowledge of ERP systems.
Inventory control management.
Willingness to understand the duties and competencies of different roles.
Well organized and time management skills.
