Job Summary

Requirements

  • be a committed and practicing Christian
  • be a person of integrity and committed to the vision, mission, philosophy and core values of the University (see annexed extract of Article 4 and 5 of the University Charter)
  • be an active member in a church whose vision, mission, values and philosophy are in line with that of the University
  • have a minimum of five years experience in senior management
  • possess at least an academic degree from a recognized university
  • be a prominent person with global experience and linkages that are of significant value to the University
    not be a holder of a position in a political party, trade union or actively engaged in partisan politics
    Responsibilities
  • In accordance with Section 38 of the Universities Act, 2013, Article 14 of the Daystar University Charter, and the
  • Daystar Company Limited by-laws, the Daystar Company Limited which sponsors Daystar University is searching for a suitable person to serve as Chancellor of the University. As the titular head of the University, the Chancellor shall, in the name of the University, confer degrees and grant diplomas, certificates and other awards of the University. In addition, the Chancellor-
  • Shall continually promote the University’s holistic progress and advancement in accordance with the University’s Christian philosophy, Charter and Statutes
  • May from time to time, recommend to Daystar Company Limited a visitation of the University
  • My from time to time give advice to the University Council, which the Chancellor considers necessary for the betterment of the University
  • Facilitate local and international networking for the advancement of the University
  • Shall perform such functions as the Daystar Company Limited may approve in consultation with the Council in accordance with the Charter
