Quality Engineer
Key responsibilities:
Implement all concepts within AVA’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with customer specific requirements, ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016
Support in undertaking internal quality and systems audits as per IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 requirements
Support expedited customer complain resolution in liaison with cross functional stakeholder departments by conducting root cause analyses, putting in containment actions, and implementing short-term and long- term countermeasures
Lead regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality
Identify the root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues
Internal and external reporting of agreed quality key performance indicators (KPIs) on a monthly basis or as required by relevant stakeholders
Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained
Monitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators including scrap monitoring, rework levels, parts per million (PPM) figures
Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
Develop and continually update quality feedback loop documentation to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns. Communicate updates to stakeholder departments for seamless implementation
Develop and maintain an annual quality training program for the quality control inspectors and technicians. Monitor training levels and maintain individual skills matrices
Identify, recommend, and deploy technical skill sets, resource levels and systems required to meet quality objectives, including the engagement of external resources
Support in organizing and leading regular quality committee meetings by coordinating with representatives from cross-functional stakeholder departments
Supervise the quality control inspectors and technicians to ensure effective execution of their duties
Set monthly departmental objectives/KPIs and review departmental performance monthly
Interface with the continuous improvement department to implement measures that guarantee progressive improvement of AVA’s quality performance
Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka- Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System Analysis
Proactively provide guidance, recommendations, feedback, and trainings to cross-functional stakeholder departments on addressing quality issues to further elevate customer satisfaction
In liaison with the training coordinator, plan, promote, and organize training activities and material related to quality
Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices and future trends
Attend quality conference meetings and action/communicate instructions related to quality optimization as per new learnings on best practices and requirements
Keep abreast with any changes regarding regulatory requirements, customer specific requirements, ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards that may affect AVA’s quality management system and related processes
Retain all quality records of all models assembled in a secure, easily accessible, and organized manner as per customer specific requirements
Manage the document control master list as per AVA’s document control procedure, customer specific requirements, ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards
Review, update and submit PPAP – Process Flow, Control Plans, FMEA, Capability Studies, Layout, etc. for new and existing products
Develop an understanding of core cross-functional departmental processes that support quality objectives
Interface with third-party OEM representatives in support of troubleshooting unresolved quality errors
Support quality control inspectors and technicians in the sign-off of quality instructions and resolution of internal/external quality concerns
Determine inspection equipment and facility requirements affecting quality performance and liaise with the Technical Services Department for calibration and maintenance support
Ensure that the quality department operates in accordance with AVA’s established health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
Required qualifications and experience:
Minimum 4-5 years progressive work experience in Quality Assurance or similar role
Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred
Knowledge of and ability to execute statistical process control activities, measurement systems analysis and variable data analysis
Must be able to manage high-demand workloads
Solid auditing skills, capable of driving issue resolution as a seasoned team player
Experience with e-learning platforms
Knowledge of systematic quality tools/software such as Q-pulse
Knowledge of ISO 9001:205 and IATF 16949:2016 standards and accompanying certification
